What is Lightning Lane?
  • When you purchase Lightning Lane Passes, you are able to bypass the standby line and join a shorter line for select attraction and entertainment experiences. The passes allow you to choose the rides and attractions you want to experience before you arrive to the parks! There are three types of Lightning Lane Passes: Multi Pass, Single Pass, and Premier Pass.

  • With LL Multi Pass, you can choose up to three experiences in advance. LL Multi Pass prices vary but typically are $20-30 per person per day. They are available to purchase through your MyDisneyExperience app starting at 7:00 AM EST three days prior to your first park day (or seven days prior to your check-in day if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel). Don’t forget, once you enjoy your first LL Multi Pass reservation in the park, you can make an additional LL reservation based on availability! Also included in your purchase are digital downloads of select attraction images and Disney-themed photo lenses.

  • Alternatively, you can purchase a LL Single Pass for up to two of Disney’s most in-demand attractions per day. The price varies but is typically between $10-20 per person per attraction. You can purchase LL Multi Pass and LL Single Pass for the same day in a single transaction.

  • Lastly, with LL Premier Pass, guests get one-time entry to EACH available LL experience in a single theme park on one day. With the LL Premier Pass, you will not need to chose return times but enter the LL at your convenience! The price varies but will typically be between $150 to $450 per person per day.

  • When you make your LL reservations, Disney will recommend arrival windows that work with your plans, but you have the freedom to select any time that works for you! We recommend booking at least one reservation for as early as possible.

  • In your MyDisneyExperience app, you can view available experiences for all three types of LL Passes on the Tip Board. You can find your Tip Board by clicking the + icon on the bottom of the screen and then clicking “View My Genie Day and Tip Board” and navigating to the Tip Board tab. On that same page, you’ll find the My Genie Day tab where you will see your current theme park plans for the day all in one place. You’ll also get personalized recommendations customized to your preferences.

  • You are able to modify your LL selections in the app at anytime, but keep in mind, the new reservations will be at current availability. Simply click on the LL Passes section of the home screen to view and modify your current selections.

Purchasing Lightning Lane & Making Reservations
  • You can purchase LL Passes starting at 7:00 AM three to seven days prior to your visit. We recommend having the app open just a bit before 7 AM, though, in order to secure your reservations as quickly as possible. It’s all based on availability!

  • When you are ready to make your reservations, you can tap the Lightning Lane Passes section on the home screen of your MyDisneyExperience app. Select a date and a theme park and select if you’d like to purchase LL Multi Pass, LL Single Pass, or both. If you selected LL Multi Pass, once you’ve made your LL reservations, you can tap “Plan Another Day” to purchase another pass or tap “View My Day” for details about your LL selections.

  • If you do not purchase LL ahead of time, you can always make purchases once you arrive to the park through the app. Remember, at the parks, once you have checked in for your ride with your LL Pass, you can immediately make your next LL reservation. You do NOT need to wait until you ride the ride to make another reservation.

  • If someone in your group wants a different LL reservation, you must first select the same ride for all guests. Once you have completed all your selections, you can then modify your reservation for select guests and choose a different attraction.

  • If you have park hopper tickets, you will need to make all your advance LL reservations at the park you are visiting first that day. After you have used your first LL Pass that day, you can select your next LL reservation at a different park.

Tips & Guidelines

Our Top Tips & Tricks
  • Do your research prior to your visit. You should talk with your traveling group about which attractions you’d like to experience before it is time to make your LL reservations. You can save your group’s top picks in your MyDisneyExperience app using the My Genie Day feature. When you open this page, click on “Get Started Now.” From there, you will select up to eight attractions you are interested in at the park. We suggest only selecting the top few that you want to prioritize. These will show up at the top of your Tip Board when you go to make your reservations so you don’t have to scroll to find them. You can keep editing these priority selections throughout the day to make sure your favorites show up first!

  • Get familiar with the Tip Board. It’s a good idea to play around in the MyDisneyExperience app before your trip. There’s lots of great tools, like the map, mobile ordering, and park hours. Most importantly, the Tip Board will help you throughout your park days to make LL reservations.

  • Have everyone download the MyDisneyExperience app on their phones. If one of you does run out of battery, then you will have back up phones to make your next reservations with!

  • Make sure to bring a portable phone charger! To make additional LL reservations in parks, you’ll need to be checking and using your phone frequently which can drain your battery quickly. Make sure you have extra battery packs!

  • Be ready before 7:00 AM! All Disney Resort guests will be up to make their reservations, meaning the servers may slow down right when its time to make your reservation. Make sure you are up and ready to make your reservation BEFORE the clock hits 7:00 AM. We suggest using an Atomic Clock (time.gov) on another device to make sure you are clicking the button RIGHT at 7:00 AM.

  • Keep an eye on wait times for rides you DON’T have reservations for. When you first arrive in the morning, the most popular attractions may have very low standby wait times because many guests made LL reservations for them instead. If you’re arriving at rope drop or with early theme park entry, head to the most popular rides first when lines are shortest.

  • Check back at rides you thought were full. Cancellations do happen, so keep an eye on your favorite rides to see if any earlier reservation times become available!

  • Refresh to see new return times. If the ride you want to book next doesn’t have a great return time, you can refresh the page before confirming the reservation to try to get a new time.

  • Arrive early or late. You can arrive to your LL reservation up to 5 minutes early and you have a grace period of 2 hours at the end of your reservation.

  • Never cancel your first LL reservation. Even if someone in your party decides they do not want to ride the first ride, you will need to scan EVERYONE in at the first ride before making new LL reservations. If you cancel your first LL reservation in the app instead of scanning it, it forfeits your ability to make any future LL selections for the day.

Rides Only Available through LL Single Pass

Select rides at each park are ONLY available through LL Single Pass or LL Premier Pass, which is a separate purchase than LL Multi Pass. Note that these rides run out of LL reservations quickly, so make sure to secure these right away if any of them are must-sees for your family!

Note: These rides can change at anytime, so make sure to consult your MyDisneyExperience app for most up-to-date exclusions.
